History + Beliefs

Everything thiere is to know about me

I began my profession at an early age; one day my dad brought home 30 page book from the library on how to make a website. By this point I had already begun to experiment with the magic of art on the computer, so this was the next logical step. I caught on quickly and at age 14 I had made my first webpage.

I was home schooled giving me more than enough time to work on the computer 23 hours a day. I attempted to take classes to further my skills as a designer and programmer but no class I found was able to keep up with my level of knowledge plus my speed of learning.

Not long after I picked up flash, I got my first job at a local church working directly with their lead graphic designer making their website and a number of intros. I continued to design websites as a freelancer until I got my second job at GoDaddy. I began as a sales / tech support for the first 5 months but then moved on to development where I assisted in UI design and template design for just over 1½ years. During this time I lead the team out of the table based Stone Age and into the Modern Age of standards, the compliant way of building websites. I am now back to freelancing full time.

I am a self-taught designer, who has a strong technical knowledge, and strongly believes in the experience of the user rather than the eye candy presented to them. I have grown to love all aspects of creating a website: the artistic in addition to the practical.
